Diving Into the History of Amsterdam’s Canals

In the 17th century, Amsterdam was a growing city. Foreign adventures and the colonial wealth they brought with them enriched a merchant class eager to display its might with opulent new homes outside the city’s inner core. The result was Amsterdam’s Grachtengordel, or canal belt. Three canals — the Herengracht, Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht — saw a building frenzy that created what is now one of the city’s most popular destinations.

If… Continue

Get Your Work in the Guggenheim

Nothing gets me more excited than seeing creative ideas rise to the top and get the recognition it deserves. The Guggenheim Museum and YouTube must love this too because they've partnered up to discover new talent.

"The project, called YouTube Play and conceived as a biennial event, is intended to discover innovative work from unexpected sources. It is open even to entrants who don’t consider themselves artists, and actively encourages the participation of… Continue

Being Frank by Nigey Lennon: now available as e-book

The passing of time can both be significant and irrelevant depending on what position you'd take when reviewing certain issues in life. The internet, for instance, changes very rapidly. Information that wasn't at hand a week ago, can all of a sudden be available in numerous pages, elegantly coughed up by your favorite search engine and its not lesser spin-offs: as if the internet is a… Continue
