Vice president ECB, Lucas D. Papademos visits UM

Lucas D.Papademos, vice president of the ECB will give a lecture 1 march at 14.00 hrs in the aula of the Tongersestraat about "Macro prudential supervision in the EU". 

Lucas D. Papademos will speak about the recent initiatives taken by the European Union to strengthen the financial supervision in Europe, especially in the aftermath of the financial crisis. He will more specifically discuss Macro prudential oversight (oversight for the financial system as a whole), and particularly the role of the European Central Bank herein and the new to be established European Systematic Risk Board (ESRB), in which the ECB will play a key role.
